The Rite Stuff

         Easter is a season not just a single day. It is called theGreat Fifty Days of Easter. This season is one of celebration and is a week of Sundays. It is not the end of the Church year like May is usually the end of the school year.
          I’ve always wondered why we don’t have an Easter season equivalent of Lenten resolutions. Instead of a penitential emphasis, these should concentrate on living in a more joyful and hopeful way, actually counting our blessings. Surely, some are facing tough times but we face those realities trusting that, as Resurrection people, we are not alone and not ultimately defeated.
