Christ Episcopal Church relies on pledges and weekly collections to fund the mission of the church.

Donations are used to serve other in our community, to operate and maintain our grounds and facilities, to pay the salaries for our staff members, and to support the Episcopal Church in Mississippi.

As a religious institution, Christ Church is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization; all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by the current tax laws.

There are many ways to give to Christ Episcopal Church.

  • Your annual pledge allows our Vestry to plan for the church's financial future. Pledges are made in the late fall of each year with funds collected throughout the calendar year as determined by each parishioner. Pledges fund the salaries, maintenance projects, office expenses, and other financial commitments set by the church;

  • Weekly collections during our services add to the funds used to maintain our structure and handle our financial commitments;

  • In addition to individual contributions, consider listing Christ Episcopal Church as your institution of choice on your employer's workplace giving program;

  • Planned giving supports your philanthropic goals, and can include stock transfers, charitable annuities, bequests, charitable trusts, endowments, retirement plan assets, and gifts of life insurance or real property

Giving FAQ’s

 

  • God is the ultimate giver who gave us all there is and His most precious gift - His Son Jesus. Our lives are transformed by the gospel of Christ when we learn to give generously. It changes us, making us more like our generous Creator.

  • The biblical "tithe" literally means one-tenth or 10%. It was the means employed to fund ancient Israel’s religions, charitable, and governmental operations. An Offering was anything given beyond the one-tenth.

  • Giving to Christ Church supports all of our Ministries from Sunday Services to Backpack Buddies to our Diocesan pledge and ongoing operating expenses.

  • A tithe is one standard of giving. You may also consider proportionate giving or simply giving as you’re able.

  • Sending your offering by auto-draft or ACH is an option we are working on. Many choose to set up recurring monthly donations from their online bank’s bill pay service which creates and mails a paper check to Christ Church monthly.

  • Yes. Any offering you choose to give will contribute to the mission of Christ Church. Offerings of cash, securities, real property or any other items of value will be gratefully received. Planned giving through your will is an option we can help with. An even easier way is to designate Christ Church as a beneficiary on the beneficiary forms you sign with your financial, insurance and brokerage institutions. Let us know how we can help.
