A Lenten Message from Lee
Dear Folks,
I know we are in the last, most intense days of Mardi Gras but I want to ask you to take a minute and think about your Lenten practices.
Everyone talks about what they are going to “give up” for Lent. Those can be useful and even work well if there’s more to it than just making it to the end of the 40 days of Lent. My experience has been that “taking on” a discipline works better for me. Take on a project that involves our time, talents, giving, and study. I don’t believe God wants repentance that’s just feeling guilty. The word actually has the meaning of “turning around” and heading - read that as an active verb - and heading in a different direction.
We all have so many things in our own lives we’d like to steer in a positive direction and there are so many people and projects out there that could use your help. This is renewal time!
Peace
Lee
